- Provides a fantastic warm cover crop
- Supplied as rhizomes, small root bundles ready to be planted. We can arrange hire of a purpose-made planter.
- Ideal for hard to access areas and on shoots where annual crop establishment is challenging.
- Miscanthus thrives on all soil types, including difficult soils and requires very low fertiliser inputs.
- Proven to be beneficial for wider farmland wildlife, particularly invertebrates.
- It has been successfully grown on sites over 1,000 feet above sea level.
- Miscanthus is tolerant of various herbicides for weed control.
- Miscanthus will take a couple of years before it is established properly, in the first year we suggest using a nurse crop to provide initial cover. For example Sorghum, Maize, Utopia.
- Produces good nesting cover in the spring.
