AHW1 | AB16 Autumn Sown Bumblebird

Our Autumn Sown Bumblebird mixture, is compatible with AHW1 | AB16 stewardship and has been created with the inclusion of legumes and wildflowers, this mix is designed primarily to offer a nectar source of pollinators. In addition to this, the cereal and brassica species produce a feed source for farmland birds throughout the winter months and into early spring.

The Autumn Sown Bumblebird option can be a helpful tool for growers struggling to get spring sown success and/or work load issues (but very rarely offers much cover or feed value in the first winter of establishment). It can also aid overall farmland habitats by providing nesting, brood rearing and over winter cover for wild song birds, game birds, pollinators & other mammals, such as the brown hare. Due thought and attention should be given to location and rotation to aid with weed control. Marc Bull Technical Sales
