Chicory

Chicory is a deep-rooting perennial herb widely used for grazing. Exceptionally high in minerals and naturally drought tolerant, it is valued for its anthelmintic properties, helping to reduce liver fluke and worm burdens in deer and grazing livestock.

If left ungrazed, it will bolt and can reach heights of up to 7ft, creating excellent natural cover from birds of prey. Through winter, the tall stems lean and intertwine, forming a dense mass of material with sheltered tunnels and runways—ideal for wildlife protection.
