Buckwheat Seed | BSW1

Buckwheat Seed

Buckwheat is a fast-growing cover crop that establishes quickly and provides valuable early-season food and cover for game and wildlife. Its distinctive conical-shaped seeds are highly attractive to pheasants and partridges, while duck and deer also make good use of the crop.

Sown from May onwards, buckwheat competes strongly with weeds during establishment and can reach seed maturity in around 10 weeks. Seed shed continues over several months, providing a prolonged food source while the remaining stubble offers valuable cover for game.

Buckwheat seed is also well suited to being sown alongside ponds, in woodland glades and other wildlife areas, making it a versatile choice for creating attractive game habitat.
