These mixtures are designed to be planted between late June and late August. They can be a useful option to improve struggling crops and can also be used on stubble post-harvest. A lot of shoots now use summer-sown crops to enable a good stale seed bed to be created prior to drilling.
Autumn Promise
Our most popular summer-sown mixture. Very fast to establish and can be used in a range of scenarios. The inclusion of vetch and buckwheat (non-brassicas) reduces the overall risk of flea beetle damage. Utopia is included to improve the winter-hardiness of the mix. As a general rule Autumn Promise does better drilled rather than broadcasted. When weeds are a serious issue, this mix is a good choice because it can be planted late into a stale seed bed.
Keepers Relief
A fast-growing brassica mix. Many customers broadcast this into struggling game covers to ‘patch-up’ or drill or broadcast into stubble after harvest. The crop that results is ideal for flushing points or can provide a useful wind-break alongside a strip of maize.
