Sluggo
SLUGGO is the revolutionary slug killer from Omex Agriculture - a pelleted bait for the control of slugs and snails in agricultural and horticultural crops.
Contains 10g/kg ferric phosphate (MAPP 12529).
- Effective against all slugs and snails
- Environmentally friendly
- Non-hazardous
- Safe to beneficial slug predators
- Superior rainfastness
- Certified Organic (EEC guideline 2092/91) (derogation required for organic use)
- No harvest interval
- High number of baiting points
Trials over many seasons in the UK, Europe and America have demonstrated that SLUGGO performs at least as well as, and in many situations better than, the old fashioned alternatives of metaldehyde and methiocarb.
ALWAYS READ THE LABEL - USE PESTICIDES SAFELY

Price: £67.25SLUGGO may be used as a bait for the control of slugs in all edible and non-edible crops at a maximum individual dose of 50 kg/ha and a total dose of 200 kg/ha. Broadcast SLUGGO evenly at a rate of 12.5 to 25 kg/ha (horticultural use) or 3 to 8 kg/ha (agricultural use).
The rate of application depends on the following:
- The density of the crop to be protected;
- The susceptibility of the crop to slug damage, e.g. lettuce, marigolds and oilseed rape are particularly attractive to slugs;
- The population of slugs present.
Use the higher rate where one or more of the above situations applies. A single application will normally be sufficient; however repeat treatment may be necessary to maintain control.
Apply as soon as damage is first seen, preferably in the early evening hours when slugs are most active. Repeat treatment may be necessary to maintain control.
Slugs prefer moist and soaked granules. On moist soil or in humid conditions, granules take up water and begin to swell. The granules do not decay after a few swelling processes
SLUGGO combines efficacy with safety to non-target organisms: it contains the active ingredient ferric phosphate which occurs naturally in the soil, and this is combined with a cereal-based pellet to form an attractive bait for slugs and snails. Toxicological data indicates that SLUGGO is completely harmless to wildlife - vertebrates (birds, hedgehogs, dogs and other large animals) and invertebrates (earthworms, bees and beneficial insects) are unaffected. SLUGGO is also harmless to fish and the aquatic environment and carries no Harvest Interval.
Any uneaten SLUGGO will be broken down in the soil: ferric phosphate is transformed by soil micro organisms into iron and phosphate and becomes part of the soil nutrient reserves.
SLUGGO is attractive to all plant damaging slugs: the pellets attract slugs away from your plants and after eating the bait the slugs cease feeding giving protection of the plants.
SLUGGO bait technology has a novel mode of action.: there is also no strong slime secretion left around plants and no requirement to collect dead slugs as they crawl away to secluded places to die.
