MARCH NEWS - GAMECOVER UPDATE
All the photographs featured below were taken on the 14th March just before being topped off.
Pheasant & Finch - A crop of Pheasant & Finch photographed on the 14th March just before it was topped off. You can clearly see it has been a great success and arguably would do a 2nd year. This mixture has been a huge success across the country.
Wild Bird Cereal Mix - You can clearly see winter triticale will come ahead this year possibly making it a 2 year mix.
Boom - Linseed, Kale, Millet and Phacelia, this crop could possibly go a 2nd year although obviously it's only the Bittern kale that has come through. Having said that the millet and linseed gave copious amounts of food for small and large birds throughout the season
Double Trigger - 6 Pack Kale, Red Carina quinoa & Phacelia, This mixture has been tried and tested for years and just works every time. The kale is treated for flea beetle with Ultrastrike. The Phacelia shows first and tends to help keep the pigeons off.
Partridge Mixture - The clever combination of cereal and oilseeds enables this mixture to last the season. Partridge love it as it provides the right amount of cover, not too much and a constant supply of food through the season.
Green Dwarf - Capetown sorghum mixed with kale is ideal for difficult and windy sites and there is nothing more exposed than our trial site in Swallowcliffe. As you can see it has survived the season well.
Organic 2 year - Who says you can't grow kale organically? You can, you just need to know how to farm it. This crop is well set for its second year in an organic situation. Speak to us, we know how to do it.
Reed Canary Grass - At the end of its second year just before being topped, it will be thicker next year.
Simply Red - This red kale is part of our 6 Pack blend and has some unique characteristics.
Capetown Sorghum - Capetown in the middle with dwarf either side. This blend is the ideal height, 4ft6 to 5ft. Its taken all the bad weather and done a lovely job. On its right is Birdgo which produces grain so Bed & Breakfast all in the same area!
